Daybook....

Outside my window
I can hear the Khutbah (friday sermon) coming from the loudspeakers of our local masjid, and the children from the house opposite terrorising and being terrorised in equal measure

I am thinking
How much I want to savour every slow moment of this weekend.

I am thankful
that the fall I had the day before yesterday wasn't worse than it was. I am in pain, but still able to get things done... slower and with a wince here and there... but better than nothing

In the kitchen
there is a pot of chicken soup that has just finished cooking, which is always the one culinary balm that guarantees to make me feel better, and some home made cheese, flavoured with garlic and thyme...waiting for the rest of the family to come home for lunch

I am wearing
a navy blue linen, sleeveless tunic that falls just above the knee... simple and cool.

I am creating
the rest of the weekend in my head... I hope I achieve at least some of it

Around the house
are the accumalted debris of nothing having been done much today on the tidying front... but I cease to stress about those things at the weekend. The children have settled in front of the TV to watch ice Age again... there is plenty of time to tidy life away later.

I am reading
almost everything I own... I can't settle into any single book these days and just pick upbooks at random and re-read my favourite parts

I am hoping
to find the time to make some tentaive plans for the week ahead

I am looking forward to
having some snuggle time with the three year old, who seems to have gotten lost somewhere during the school week and school runs.

I am learning
to be patient with myself and to give myself some slack

A favourite quote for the day
Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will
Gandhi

A few palns for the rest of the week
school runs, a knitting project, some writing, coffee with a friend,

A peek into my day

May Allah heal you with a complete healing. Ameen.
Interested to know how you made cheese at home? Ive made yoghurt before in a maker and I think some type of cheese for an Indian sweet (long time ago I forget the name of said sweet) Maybe you could blog your recipe someday inshaAllah assuming its not an algerian family secret one....?
