Just another morning...

We're two days into our second week back at school, and life is falling into a very determined pattern...
The rhythm grounds me and keeps me focused, and the extra walk with the 13yr old this year is giving me an extra fitness boost, which can't be bad...

There is less time for procrastinating during term time... things have to get done, and meals have to happen at the right time or the day slips out of control quicker than you can imagine.

Right now it's a little after 10am and I can hear the women in my ziniqa busying themselves in their kitchen...and I love the familiar sounds of crockery being put to use and guessing what everyone is having for lunch as all the smell from other womens kitchens come drifting in through my open window.

Morning here has a fairly set pattern of cleaning and cooking... water runs through the ziniqa from early morning onwards as women wash the dust out of their homes and into the street...

Outside, the Sardine man has arrived and is calling "SARDIYAY, ASARDIYAY"...
And he'll spend his morning pushing his cart through these tight little alleyways, a trail of hungry cats behind him, waiting for scraps and the last few sardines he can't sell....

Have I told you lately how much I love this place?

    1. It was my mother who taught me to approach everything in life with tenacity and strength, and to never giver up... wherever you are in life there are always others worse off...

So, I just lift up my chin and keep going.. through the good bits, the bad bits and all the stuff in between.
And us women... we're all inspiring... everyday we get up and make a difference by just being us... women ROCK!!! :)
